It's been a long time, but I remember now what gets me going in life.  Besides the obvious:  the face, Teri, travelling, playing music.  But discovering a new band and seeing them in concert before the world knows about it.  It's not because I feel cool that I'm the first, but because its such a unique experience to see something that no one else sees.  Now I'm not saying I'm the first, but it seems that way when it's hard to purchase stuff in the US.  This is the US and we like to make things easy on ourselves and make money!!  And when you have to go overseas and give your money to other countries to buy stuff, that means the US hasn't caught on yet.  For example, Daniel Powter.  Only available in Europe for quite a while, but now huge in the US.  I listened to his song on a coca cola commercial in France and had to have the song.  But couldn't find it!    Anyway, I got off the subject.  I saw this band and didn't have to listen to all kinds of babble from teenage girls, or music elitists, or anyone!  I just waltzed over to this stage and watched a fabulous 45 minute set from this 19 year old guy from Scotland.  Scotland!!!  I didn't even know the name of the band until they were off stage.  Anyway,  maybe I just enjoy having an opinion about something without being fed the opinion by someone else.  It's a hard thing to do, because we are beat up by so many different media types.  Anyway, I'm stoked.  It invigorates my soul.  I totally should have gone too that phoenix show.  But that's ok. I'm off and running on music again and I have ACL to thank for it.  And more importantly Austin, and Teri who brought it to me.
